Michel Laval is President & Managing Director at WINESTONE LAVAL.

Prior to his role at WINESTONE LAVAL, Michel held senior leadership roles within a Top 5 Bank, an executive role within an insurance company and a Chief Marketing Officer role within a Mortgage Brokerage.

As a former executive, Michel observed that leaders tended to tell their team “what” and “how” things are to be done, but not often enough “why”. Michel is passionate about helping people rediscover “why” they and their organizations do what they do, founded on the values of professionalism, ethics and gratitude.

Michel’s recent experience includes designing, developing and deploying mortgage financing, mergers & acquisitions programs within credit unions, residential, commercial and construction mortgage brokering, sales management, group coaching and facilitation and strategic consulting.

Michel holds his undergraduate degree and his MBA. He is a licensed Mortgage Broker. Michel is an avid martial artist and the proud father of two boys.

Gary Seveny

Prior to his role at WINESTONE LAVAL, Gary held senior leadership roles within the credit union system, including President & Chief Executive Officer of Alterna Bank & Savings. Gary was instrumental in creating the Bank on behalf of the Credit Union.

Gary works closely with Michel Laval in order to design, develop and deploy Credit Union Programs that continue to bring value to our key strategic alliances. He is a key member of the organization and is well regarded within the credit union system as well as the financial industry.

Gary holds his MBA. He sits on a number of Boards, including TelPay, Apaylo and Yorkville Asset Management, where Gary is Chair of the Board.

Gabe Kalmar is Executive Director at WINESTONE LAVAL.

Prior to his role at WINESTONE LAVAL, Gabe was CEO of CIBC Insurance and President & COO of CUMIS Life. Over the years, Gabe has been instrumental in many key strategic initiatives within the Banking and Insurance sectors.

Gabe works closely with Michel Laval in order to design, develop and deploy Credit Union Programs that continue to bring value to our key strategic alliances. He is a key member of the organization and is well regarded within the credit union system as well as the financial industry.
Gabe holds his Master’s of Science Degree.

Marissa Rimbao is Manager of Operations & Mortgage Broker at WINESTONE LAVAL.

Marissa has over twenty years of operations and credit management experience, where she managed projects and programs at Fortune 500 companies such as TSX. She has been recognized for expertly project managing large-scale projects.

In her current role, Marissa is responsible for operations. She supports Michel and the Executive Team in key organizational initiatives.
